Privacy Policy

BoostRevision ("we", "us") is an AI-powered A-Level revision tool at boostrevision.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights over it. We are the data controller for the purposes of the UK GDPR.

What we collect

• Account data: your email address, display name, and (for email accounts) a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and name from Google.
• Usage data: the questions you generate, your answers and marks, bookmarks, and practice streaks — so we can show your progress and weak areas.
• Billing data: if you subscribe, our payment processor Stripe handles your card details. We never see or store your full card number — we only keep a Stripe customer reference and your plan status.
• Analytics data: if you consent, anonymised usage statistics (see our cookie policy).

How we use it

• To provide the service — generate questions, track your progress, and keep you signed in.
• To manage your subscription and send service emails (receipts, trial reminders, subscription changes).
• To improve BoostRevision, where you've consented to analytics.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your answers to train third-party AI models.

Who we share it with

We use trusted processors to run the service: Supabase (authentication and database), Stripe (payments), Anthropic (AI question generation), Brevo (transactional email), and Vercel and Render (hosting). Each processes data only on our instructions.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (from your profile page, or by emailing us), your data is permanently erased. Some records may be retained where legally required (e.g. payment records for tax purposes).

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and withdraw consent at any time. You can update your name and delete your account directly from your profile page, or contact us for any request. You also have the right to complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).

Children

BoostRevision is intended for A-Level students. If you are under 16, please use it with the consent of a parent or guardian.
